Trust levels
How a fact goes from discovered to certified, and what answers are allowed to use.
Every fact in the second brain links to its evidence and has one of four trust levels.
| Level | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Discovered | Found by the crawler agent, with evidence. Not checked yet. |
| Validated | A metric or join that ran on real data and matched a known result. |
| Approved | Accepted by its owner, or approved automatically because the change is low risk. |
| Certified | Signed off by its owner as the company's official definition. |
How facts move up
Metrics and joins are tested on real data. A metric is validated only when it matches a number you already trust, such as an existing dashboard, within 0.5%.
Decisions, policies and events can't be tested against data. They're checked for evidence and conflicts, then approved by their owner.
Approval depends on risk:
| Risk | What happens |
|---|---|
| Low | Goes live automatically. |
| Medium | Goes live, and 1 in 10 is spot-checked. |
| High | Waits for the owner. Any change that would move an approved number is high risk. |
Certification is always a person's decision. If a fact's only source is deleted, it drops back to discovered.
What answers use
Answers use approved and certified facts only. Drafts are shown only when someone asks for them, and never reach a SQL query.
Staying trusted
Every approved and certified metric is replayed daily, and after any source change. If the result drifts by more than 0.5%, Doram drafts a fix, and answers keep using the last approved version until the owner approves the new one.
